Police in Tewksbury are asking for the public’s help identifying the driver of a vehicle that authorities say intentionally ran over and killed several seagulls earlier this week.
The incident occurred shortly after noon on Thursday, when police were called to the lot at 1777 Main St. According to a statement issued by the Tewksbury Police Department, someone reported that a vehicle had driven through a large flock of seagulls.
When officers arrived, they found six dead seagulls. An initial investigation determined a dark SUV accelerated before plowing through the flock, police said.
Video footage captured the incident , and police are sharing it with the public in hopes that someone can identify the vehicle or the driver.
