WASHINGTON — The FDA is again expanding its advisory about high levels of lead in ground cinnamon , now adding Lucky Foods brand Cinnamon Powder to the advisory. The food safety agency's warning began in July 2024 and has expanded several times since.
The Lucky Foods brand recall affects 40-gram packages of the ground cinnamon product with a brown label that says "Lucky Foods" at the top. The product was sold in several states, including California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Texas, between April 11 and Sept. 1 of this year.
The products had a best-by date of Sept. 15, 2027.
No illnesses have been reported, but the FDA said the recall was initiated after a New York State Depa
