Worker in critical condition after workplace accident in east Montreal

A worker was in critical condition Saturday morning following a workplace accident in east Montreal.

The incident occurred around 9:35 a.m. at 9800 Maurice-Duplessis Blvd., in the Rivière-des-Prairies area, according to the Montreal police (SPVM), who were called to assist at the scene.

The worker was transported to hospital in critical condition.

The province’s workplace safety board, the Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CNESST), has launched an investigation into the incident.
