The Mont-Sainte-Anne ski resort is postponing its opening after the Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ) ordered the closure of four ski lifts.

The Beaupré, Que., resort was scheduled to open Saturday.

The shutdown ordered on Friday by the RBQ affects the Express du Nord, Express du Sud, Étoile filante, and Panorama Express lifts.

The RBQ made the decision following inspections carried out on Wednesday, Dec. 10, in connection with a failure in the 25,000-volt high-voltage network that powers the buildings, ski lifts, and snowmaking system at the ski resort.
