KULPMONT, Pa. — An early morning fire in Kulpmont burned through several multi-family homes along the 1300 block of Scott Street in the borough.

Crews totalling more than 100 firefighters from across Northumberland and surrounding counties responded to the scene as the fire spread, triggering a four-alarm response. PPL is reporting more than 700 homes and businesses without power in Kulpmont.

According to the Kulpmont Deputy Fire Chief, one firefighter was checked out for smoke inhalation, but they're okay. The fire involved five structures, badly damaging four, two of which have collapsed roofs. More than 10 people were displaced. The Red Cross is on scene assisting.
