A man has sadly died after collapsing in Durham's Market Hall, managers of the indoor market confirmed.
The man collapsed inside the venue on Saturday, December 13.
Members of staff at the site, alongside customers, took turns to perform CPR while waiting for ambulance to arrive.
Sadly, the man was unable to be revived, managers of the Market Hall said in a statement posted online.
The post on Facebook said: "Today, we experienced a very sad incident in our Market Hall.
"A gentleman sadly collapsed, and despite the best efforts of everyone involved, he could not be revived. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his family and friends at this incredibly difficult time."
Management thanked customers and staff members for stepping in to offer help and "offer dignity and privacy
