The Vancouver Giant and Vancouver Warriors are both hosting their Teddy Bear Toss fundraiser games this evening, with the Giants taking on the Victoria Royals at the Langley Events Centre, and the Warriors facing the Las Vegas Desert Dogs at Rogers Arena . Both games have 7 p.m. opening faceoffs.
The Teddy Bear Toss has been a staple of the holiday seasons in junior hockey for decades. The Giants hosted their first one in December 2002, which was their second season. All 23 WHL clubs this year are holding one, and there are 10 in the league this weekend alone. The Giants beat the Royals 5-4 in a shootout Friday in their game.
