BOSTON —

The mother of the White House press secretary's young nephew is sharing her story after she was detained by ICE agents.

In her first interview since she was released from custody, Bruna Ferreira explained to CNN how she was picked up by immigration officials.

Ferreira said she was on her way to pick up her 11-year-old son at school last month when she was approached by immigration agents.

"A swarm of people, and I was quickly rushed to the Revere Police Department to verify my identity," Ferreira said.

The 33-year-old mother says during her 26 days in custody, she was shuffled to several immigration detention centers across the country.

"It's mindboggling to know that they know where you're going and they're not telling you. I was shuffled from Massachusetts to New Hampshire
