Woodstock City Church, in partnership with the Homeless Coalition of Cherokee County, will open an emergency warming station on Sunday, Dec 14, and Monday, Dec. 15, to provide a safe, warm place for those in need.

The warming shelter is opening in anticipation of the upcoming cold weather Sunday night through Tuesday morning, Cherokee County Emergency Management Agency announced.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures in Cherokee County are expected to get as low as 16 degrees overnight Sunday. Monday night, temperatures will be in the low 20s, with a low around 23 degrees.

Woodstock City Church is at 150 Ridgewalk Parkway.

Guests are asked to enter through the east entrance between 6 and 8 p.m., and to depart by 8 a.m. the following morning.
