(WAND) — With another snowstorm bringing several inches of snow across central Illinois, multiple county and city governments have declared snow emergencies.
The city of Springfield declared a snow emergency for designated snow routes. It went into effect at 7 a.m. Saturday morning and will end at noon on Tuesday, December 16.
Residents and businesses are also encouraged to keep their sidewalks clear. All sidewalks adjacent to properties need to be cleared of snow by 10 a.m. each morning following a snow event, according to a city ordinance. If the sidewalk is not clear, the property owner is subject to a $250 fine.
