Six Bangladeshi United Nations peacekeepers were killed and six others injured, including four seriously, in a drone strike on a UN camp in Kadugli, South Kordofan, Sudan, on Saturday, the UN mission said. All the victims were serving with the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA). Bangladesh’s interim leader Muhammad Yunus expressed deep sorrow over the attack, confirming six dead and eight wounded, and urged the UN to provide all necessary emergency support for the injured. He said the government would support the families of the victims during this difficult time. The country’s foreign ministry strongly condemned the strike.
