ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —
The city of Albuquerque was awarded a special grant of $5 million to improve Balloon Fiesta Park.
The grant, which was awarded this week, is part of a larger package of State grants to improve recreational facilities, trails and parks across New Mexico.
The grant is also part of the state's larger grant to alleviate flooding issues and for Americans with Disabilities Act and for improvements at the Balloon Fiesta Park.
Over the last two years, the Department of Municipal Development and the Parks and Recreation Department have completed many projects at the park, including: updating the electrical infrastructure, adding new security cameras, building a new large permanent bathroom facility, adding a public address system, completing a new ADA-accessible sidewalk, an
