ROBERSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Multiple crews put out a fire in Robersonville that officials say was set intentionally.

Saturday, just before 10:30 a.m., the Robersonville Fire Department went to a report of possible smoke or steam coming from the roof of a building located at 202 East Academy Street.

The structure, which was previously a Super Dollar, has been vacant for several years.

When crews arrived, they saw heavy smoke showing from the front of the building.

Fire crews were able to locate and put out the fire in under an hour. According to officials, the fire appeared to have been intentionally set and is currently under investigation.

Damage was confined to the former Super Dollar portion of the building; but other units within the structure sustained smoke damage.
