MISSOULA — The Montana football team scored on each of its first three possessions in building a multi-score lead it never relinquished during the quarterfinals Saturday in their final game at Washington-Grizzly Stadium.
The third-seeded Grizzlies (13-1) blitzed to a 17-0 lead on their way to a 52-22 win over the 11th-seeded South Dakota Coyotes (10-5) one week after they opened the FCS playoffs with a 50-29 thrashing of South Dakota State.
UM's victory sets up a Brawl of the Wild rematch against the second-seeded Montana State Bobcats in the semifinals. The game will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday in Bozeman and will be televised on ABC.
