Philip Rivers didn't sound like a guy coming out of retirement to sit on the bench.
Rivers, 44, an eight-time Pro Bowl participant and Pro Football Hall of Fame semifinalist, was signed to the practice squad by Indianapolis on Wednesday, and coach Shane Steichen reportedly has decided the veteran will start Sunday when the Colts visit the Seattle Seahawks.
The Colts signed Rivers from the practice squad to the active roster on Saturday, and The Athletic reported he will start.
No matter that Rivers, a grandfather, hasn't played since the 2020 season.
