FOREST PARK, Ga. — A three-bedroom, one-bath home on Shellnut Drive in Forest Park rents for $1,300 a month, but the property’s owners say they have not received a rent payment from their tenant in months.

Patrick and Kandice Phillips, who own the home, say the tenant currently living there owes them about $13,000 in back rent. They say the tenant stopped paying months ago and remained in the home despite multiple court filings.

“You're not paying rent. We were just not going to renew your lease,” Patrick Phillips said.

Court records show the couple filed a 60-day eviction notice in March. Nine months later, the tenant is still living in the home, and the Phillips says she has not paid any rent during that time.
