LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – The Kentucky Wildcats earned their first win against a quality opponent this season, defeating Indiana 72–60. Kentucky trailed 39–32 at halftime but outscored the Hoosiers 40–21 in the second half to secure the victory. It marked Kentucky’s first win over Indiana since the 2012 NCAA Tournament, as the teams had met only once since then (the 2016 NCAA Tournament).
The first half was a struggle for Kentucky. The Wildcats made just one three-pointer and failed to prevent Indiana from scoring easy baskets at the rim. The Hoosiers closed the half on a 7–0 run to extend their lead to seven at the break.
