DODGE CITY, Kan. (KAKE) — A man has died following a shooting near Dodge City on Saturday evening and multiple people are being questioned, officials say.

The Dodge City Police Department says that at approximately 5:49 p.m., Ford County deputies, along with DCPD officers and Ford County EMS, were called to a home north of Dodge City for a reported gunshot wound.

Once law enforcement arrived on scene, they were directed to a room inside the residence where they found a deceased man. Other occupants of the residence were taken to the Ford County Sheriff’s Office for questioning.

Sheriff Bill Carr tells KAKE News that the shooting is not being investigated as a suicide.
