In a shocking turn of events, Canadian authorities in Montreal recently arrested former UFC welterweight fighter Alex Garcia, along with two other suspects, for possession of 102 kg (224 lbs) of cocaine and other drugs. The officials also found other drugs, cash, and guns in the raid.

Authorities have valued the cocaine at around $1.7 million. Garcia used to compete in UFC from 2013 to 2018 before joining the Russian MMA organisation ACA. Canadian officials have charged the Dominican fighter with drug trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime.

The Montreal authorities stated: “Launched in July 2025, this criminal investigation revealed that the Toronto area was being used as a supply source and that the drugs were then being resold at a higher price in Greater Montreal.”
