SLIDELL, La. — appear to have arrested at least three men at a construction site in Slidell Saturday. The operation took place at Lakeshore Condominiums, just east of I-10.
Cell phone video shared by Gerardo Cruz shows Border Patrol agents lead three men off the roof of an unfinished building within the condo complex. Each is then handcuffed and put into a waiting Border Patrol truck.
Sites like these are subject to more complicated laws than other private properties when it comes to police presence, explained attorney Michael Gahagan.
“Different rules apply, whether it's a home versus whether it's in some sort of open area– a front yard or a backyard or a field or construction site,” he said.
Businesses and homeowners can legally deny ICE and Border Patrol agents entry if they wish. A
