LAS VEGAS — It’s been the question for a while with Jalen Brunson, the conundrum of his physical limitations and whether, for the first time since Detroit’s Isiah Thomas, a player 6-foot-1 or smaller can be the top superstar on a championship squad.
We’ll see.
There’s presumably a long time remaining in Brunson’s career in New York, a long time to make runs at the franchise’s first NBA championship since Richard M. Nixon was president. The Knicks have doubled- and tripled-down on Brunson at the top of the totem pole, with little expectation they’ll complete a trade for somebody to supplant him like Giannis Antetokounmpo.
