COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Michigan allowed 14 made 3-pointers on 27 attempts, saw an opposing player catch fire, fell behind by nine in the second half … and still won by a lopsided margin.
Michigan is “the No. 1 team in the country in every way that is meaningful — and some that are not,” Maryland coach Buzz Williams said after his team fell to Michigan 101-83 on Saturday night .
Michigan is a perfect 10-0 and has had only two games with a closer margin than Saturday’s. On Saturday, the Wolverines had to elevate their play in the second half to defeat Maryland.
“I thought we needed our shooting tonight,” Michigan coach Dusty May said on a night Michigan made 12 3-pointers. “They were mostly paint touch or in-rhythm 3s. And we have a good shooting team whenever we can do that.”
