The Karnataka government is moving to fast-track the growth of the state’s plastics sector by establishing dedicated plastic parks in Mangaluru and Vijayapura district, equipped with modern infrastructure for polymer and plastics enterprises, Large and Medium Industries Minister M.B. Patil said on Saturday.

Speaking at the launch of PLASTINDIA 2026 in Bengaluru, Patil said the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET) will set up a new campus within the proposed Mangaluru Plastic Park. The facility will focus on skill development and research in polymer science to support industry requirements.
