Wes Streeting has issued a stark warning that the UK is on the brink of a "tsunami of flu" in what could be the most challenging period for the NHS since the onset of the pandemic.
The Health Secretary has today made an urgent plea to the public to safeguard their health and also addressed resident doctors contemplating strike action during the hectic pre-Christmas period. Mr Streeting has expressed his inability to "can't guarantee patient safety over the next week" should the proposed five-day strike commence across England from 7am on Wednesday.
