Hundreds of handmade ornaments created by older adults from across Pennsylvania now adorn the Christmas tree in the State Capitol Main Rotunda , the Pennsylvania Department of Aging announced.
The decorations came from seniors at 93 community centers in 36 counties, continuing an annual tradition where the department invites older adults to contribute their handcrafted creations. The tree will remain on display through Jan. 8, 2026.
“The Department of Aging is grateful for the older adults from across the Commonwealth who dedicate their time and talent to create ornaments for the Capitol tree,” Secretary of Aging Jason Kavulich said. “The ornaments and the tree will help spread good cheer and unity to the hundreds of thousands of visitors to our State Capitol during this holiday season
