Two yellow weather warnings are in in place in the North East with heavy rain expected to last several days. The first warning announced by the Met Office was put in place from 6pm on Saturday and has now been extended until the end of Monday.

In the North East, parts of Durham and Northumberland are covered by the rain weather warning - with rainfall expected to be heaviest in Cumbria.

A second alert for heavy rain will also be in place from 6am on Monday until 3am on Tuesday. Durham, Darlington and Sunderland are covered by the latest warning.
