Parts of the UK are being cautioned about potential flooding as fresh weather warnings are issued. The Met Office has rolled out a series of yellow and amber rain alerts covering areas right across the western coastline of Britain.

An amber rainfall warning came into force from midnight on Sunday, covering south-west Scotland, taking in Dumfries and Galloway, the Lothian Borders and Strathclyde regions. Some spots could see between 110mm and 130mm of rainfall before the alert expires at 11.59pm tonight.
