The Met Office has isued a new, rare, amber weather warning for rain. The new weather alert covers just one area, Cumbria, and will be in place from 6am on Sunday, December 14, to 6pm on Monday, December 15.

The national weather forecaster warned "very heavy and persistent rainfall" in the area is expected to bring some flooding and transport disruption.
