A man killed his mum by stabbing her more than 30 times and kept attacking her as she lay dying in the middle of the road. Three psychologists agreed that Daniel Cook, who has been sentenced for manslaughter, was suffering from schizophrenia and believed his mum, Ellen Cook, 72, was a witch, Leicester Crown Court heard.

Cook, 39, who at the time of the incident in May lived in Ashby, where he ran a business selling books, wanted to move back to his parents' home in Littlethorpe, near Leicester.
