A “genius” inventor who delighted his more than half-a-million YouTube fans for 11 years took his own life after filming a ‘goodbye’ video.
Dr Robert Murray-Smith, who lived in Herne Bay, scheduled the clip to go live on his popular channel the day after his death.
In the video, the inspirational 62-year-old revealed it would be his last, telling his 579,000 subscribers that he wanted to “call it adieu while we're all really happy”.
He gave no indication of his intentions, but his brother, Dave Smith, later shared a tragic update confirming he had died by suicide.
He said Dr Murray-Smith, 62, had struggled with the loss of his wife, Patti, two years ago, and his health had recently declined.
