Crews have started installing a new traffic signal at the intersection of Boynton Drive at Dietz Road, Catoosa County officials say.

Traffic delays are to be expected, and flaggers will direct drivers around a temporary lane closure.

"We appreciate your patience as this work continues," the Catoosa County government stated in a social media post.

Commenters on the post are giving mixed signals.

"Wouldn't a roundabout be cheaper in the long run?" one person posted.

" Without turning lanes this is POINTLESS," another said.

Others support the move.

"People are having a hard time with the simple decision of 'when to go' at this 4 way," one commented. "It's not rocket science! But to them it might as well be one!"
