A victim of the Bondi Beach terrorist attack, who was shot in the head, has been identified as a Holocaust survivor. ‌

Alex Kleytman, originally from Ukraine and a survivor of the World War Two genocide, was named as one of the victims of the mass shooting at a Hanukkah event in Sydney, Australia. His wife, Larisa Kleytman, told The Australian that her husband of 50 years was killed while trying to protect her. ‌

She shared that they had come to Bondi Beach to celebrate Hanukkah, an occasion they had enjoyed for many years. She said they "came on Bondi Beach to celebrate Hanukkah, for us it was always a very, very good celebration, for many, many years". ‌
