NATCHITOCHES, La. -- A Natchitoches Parish woman has been sentenced to state prison after admitting to hitting police officers with her car, District Attorney Billy Joe Harrington said Monday in a news release.
LaKendra Bolton, 26, of Natchitoches, entered the guilty plea before District Judge Lala Sylvester and was sentenced to 23 years.
Bolton was charged with attempted second-degree murder of a police officer in 2024 following an incident at Super One Foods in Natchitoches.
Natchitoches police officers responded to a theft complaint and found Bolton inside the store. They tried to detain her; however, she ran, got into her car and drove over two officers in the parking lot before speeding away.
During the pursuit, Bolton tried to ram an officer and crashed head-on with another polic
