John Torode, the co-host of MasterChef along with Greg Wallace, is also parting ways with the BBC series following an internal investigation into an allegation of racist language used in the workplace.
On Monday, the TV chef said he had “no recollection” of using racist language while making the BBC show. But in a statement on Tuesday, the BBC confirmed Torode’s employment contract for the reality series will not be renewed.
“John Torode has identified himself as having an upheld allegation of using racist language against him. This allegation — which involves an extremely offensive racist term being used in the workplace — was investigated and substantiated by the independent investigation led by the law firm, Lewis Silkin,” a BBC spokesperson said in a statement obtained by
