ASCENSION PARISH, La. (WAFB) - A man has been arrested on charges stemming from sexual abuse of animals and child pornography, authorities said.

According to the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, Devante Carter, 30, of Gonzales, is facing the charges following an investigation.

Authorities said that detectives were notified about a tip received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in early June. The tip was regarding pornography involving juveniles, according to APSO.

A search warrant was executed, which led to the discovery that Carter had allegedly downloaded multiple videos of child pornography and sexual abuse of an animal, according to APSO.
