A weather system is moving into the Evansville area is bringing heavy rain and the potential for severe thunderstorms through Saturday. Several rounds of showers and embedded thunderstorms currently could bring gusty winds and localized flooding this morning. The main threat with this slow-moving system is flooding, with 1 to 3 inches of rain expected, and localized amounts up to 4 or 5 inches possible.

As this initial wave tapers off, we'll see new showers and storms re-forming later this evening. Friday brings another round of potential severe weather, especially late morning through the afternoon, with damaging winds being the primary concern. While Saturday has a chance for more storms, current models suggest they may track further north.
