ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has issued an air quality alert for Minnesota, effective from 11 p.m. Saturday to 11 p.m. on Sunday.
This alert is due to heavy Canadian wildfire smoke expected to move across the state. The smoke may affect air quality, reaching levels considered unhealthy for sensitive groups in areas such as Rochester, the Twin Cities metro, and other parts of Southeastern Minnesota and North Iowa.
Sensitive groups, including those with respiratory or heart conditions, children, and older adults, are advised to limit outdoor activities. Residents might notice hazy skies and the smell of smoke.
