NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The New Orleans Police Department, with help from the U.S. Marshals Task Force, arrested Joshua Kagler on Tuesday on multiple felony charges tied to the sexual exploitation of minors.

NOPD’s Special Victims Division Child Abuse Cold Case Unit identified Kagler, 38, as the alleged perpetrator in several crimes involving juveniles, according to police.

Kagler is charged with:

5 counts of trafficking of children for sexual purposes

5 counts of indecent behavior with juveniles

1 count of third-degree rape

1 count of sexual battery

All charges are felonies.

Police said Kagler previously worked as a teacher at several New Orleans-area schools, including George Washington Carver, McDonough 35, and Warren Easton high schools.
