LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office has been chosen to receive a Litter Enforcement Surveillance Camera Grant by the state’s anti-litter and community improvement organization, Keep Louisiana Beautiful (KLB).

The $10,000 grant will help create and operate a surveillance camera program that will assist in identifying litterers and increase the number of litter citations.

“This grant award represents an active partnership with KLB that will help us purchase cameras, monitoring software, and other equipment to bring out litter enforcement programs to the next level,” stated Sheriff Stitch Guillory.

The funding was made possible by the State of Louisiana and the Office of the Lieutenant Governor and is among 10 grants, totaling $94,700, that have been given out
