Jaxson Dart dropped back and surveyed only the left side of the field. The young Giants quarterback didn’t see it coming.
On his very first 11 on 11 drill play at his very first training camp practice, Dart threw an interception to cornerback Nic Jones, who perfectly jumped the quick pass to seal the eventual pick six. This play, mixed with some mediocre stats, made for an underwhelming debut for the Giants rookie.
And look, it’s still far too early to completely crucify him. It’s the first day of camp, so it was mostly red zone work and checkdown passes. It’d be foolish to think the ex-Ole Miss quarterback was going to earn the starting job in his first ever practice.
