TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Todd Blanche, the Deputy Attorney General, is scheduled to meet with Ghislaine Maxwell on Thursday at the U.S. Attorney's Office in Tallahassee. This meeting aims to discuss information related to Jeffrey Epstein, the convicted sex offender.

Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year sentence at a low-security federal correctional institution after being convicted in 2021 for her involvement in recruiting, grooming, and abusing underage girls alongside Epstein.

Blanche, who is the second-highest official at the Justice Department, announced earlier this week that he intended to meet with Maxwell. He stated on social media, "Justice demands courage. For the first time, the Department of Justice is reaching out to Ghislaine Maxwell to ask: what do you know?" He indicated that he contacted her legal team at the direction of Attorney General Pam Bondi.

In his post, Blanche emphasized, "I intend to meet with her soon. No one is above the law — and no lead is off-limits."

Maxwell's conviction has led to renewed scrutiny regarding Epstein's network and the extent of her knowledge about his activities. In 2022, the Justice Department expressed skepticism about Maxwell's potential cooperation, citing a "significant pattern of dishonest conduct" and her failure to take responsibility for her actions.

Prosecutors had previously indicated that they did not consider a plea deal with Maxwell in exchange for her testimony. This meeting is part of ongoing efforts to gather more information about Epstein and his associates.
