After more than three decades on the air, the E! channel’s flagship program, “E! News,” is coming to an end.
The celebrity-focused newscast, currently hosted by Keltie Knight and Justin Sylvester, has been canceled with plans to run new episodes only through Sept. 25, Variety reported Thursday.
The decision to cancel the show comes as the basic cable channel is being spun off from NBCUniversal by parent company Comcast and folded into Versant , a newly launched media company formerly known as SpinCo.
The new conglomerate, expected to be finalized by the end of the year, also includes the USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, Syfy and the Golf Channel, along with Fandango , Rotten Tomatoes, SportsEngine and GolfNow.
This isn’t the first time “E! News” has had its plug pulled. Th
