A man wanted for violent and nonviolent charges was mistakenly freed after the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office incorrectly released him following a clerical error.
Khalil Bryan, 30, was released after OPSO mixed him up with a person with the same last name, Sheriff Susan Hutson said in a statement Friday afternoon.
He is facing charges of illegal possession of stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting an officer and has an active warrant for aggravated assault with a firearm, domestic abuse child endangerment and home invasion, in addition to a warrant in Jefferson Parish.
