CADDO PARISH, La. (KSLA) - An impaired man was allegedly involved in a hit and run and was reportedly discovered trying to break into a home.

On July 26, around 8 a.m., the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO) responded to a report of a burglary in the 6900 block of Carroll Circle near Blanchard.

Upon arrival, CPSO found Colin Hurst, 34, in the backyard of a residence, bleeding. Deputies say Hurst was extremely impaired and possibly believed he was at his own home.

An investigation allegedly revealed that Hurst had crashed his vehicle on Glen Road and fled the scene on foot. Hurst was allegedly driving with a suspended license due to a prior DUI.

Deputies transported Hurst to a local hospital to receive treatment for his injuries he sustained while attempting to break into the house.
