ROCK SPRINGS -- The Wyoming Game and Fish Department (WGFD) has provided an update of the test results on the doves that were found deceased in Rock Springs.

According to Regina Dickson, WGFD Information and Education Specialist, both doves submitted from the "tree streets" area of Rock Springs have tested positive for Avian Paramyxovirus.

Dickson said the agency recommends taking down any backyard feeders, disinfecting them well with diluted bleach solution, and leaving those down for a month.

“This virus should only affect pigeon/dove species,” Dickson said. “If folks are seeing other species dying in numbers, three or more, should notify the Game and Fish.”
