NEWBURYPORT, Mass. (WPRI) — A man accused of violently carjacking a 77-year-old man in Newburyport, Massachusetts, is expected to appear in court on Monday.

On Friday afternoon, 77-year-old Michael Doyle said he was shoved to the ground in his driveway before the suspect drove off in his car.

"It was traumatic. I got out of my car, I walked around the car, and he was standing there. I didn't see anything. He said, 'Give me those keys,' and I said 'no,'" Doyle recalled.

After reviewing surveillance video, police identified 46-year-old David Agneta as the suspect. They say he is homeless, but previously lived in Gloucester, Massachusetts.

He was arrested in Exeter along I-95 South and charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle, two counts of carjacking, and assault and battery on
