SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - A previously accused sex offender has been arrested in a child rape investigation in Shreveport, police say.

Officials with the Shreveport Police Department say the “disturbing” rape investigation involves a 10-year-old girl. The investigation started in June when detectives were made aware of a report of sexual assault. During the investigation, Philip Daniels was identified as the main suspect.

Police say Daniels was also identified as a suspect in a forcible rape case in 2001. He was also arrested for obscenity in 2017, 2018, and 2023.

On July 26, Daniels was arrested in the 6800 block of Rasberry Lane. He’s charged with first-degree rape and molestation of a juvenile.
