DELANO, Minn. — Gov. Walz said Monday that the state should consider hardening capitol security after a man accessed the Senate Chamber this weekend after regular business hours, when the building and chamber are typically locked.

Speaking at an event in Delano touting agricultural funding, Walz addressed the weekend security breach for the first time and called the incident "serious" and "dangerous." According to the Department of Public Safety, capitol security found the man without any clothes around 11:30 p.m. Friday. and determined he needed a mental health evaluation. The man went to the hospital twice, but returned to the Capitol each time, before law enforcement finally took him into custody Saturday evening.
