A Winnipeg resident is facing drug trafficking charges after Canada Border Services Agency officers at the Calgary International Airport seized 30 kilograms of methamphetamine last month.
Mariane Lee, 18, had her luggage searched after it was flagged for abnormalities. Lee was arrested and removed from the flight, which was destined for Narita, Japan.
“Drug trafficking is not confined by borders, and neither is our commitment to stopping it all,” said Shanon Scott, acting superintendent of the Calgary Police Service’s criminal operations and intelligence division.

“By working with our partners, we can continue to disrupt these types of criminal networks that fuel exploitation in our communities.”
Following Lee’s arrest, a crim
