The municipal boards of the National Electoral Council began this Tuesday the swearing-in ceremonies for the mayors and municipal councilors elected last Sunday, July 27.

In the morning, once the voting and vote counting had been verified, the proclamation and appointment of Mayor Carmen Meléndez of Caracas took place, along with the council members, who received their credentials from the authorities in a ceremony held at the Amphitheater of the Guayana Esequiba Cultural and Sports Complex in the San Bernardino parish.

According to the bulletin issued by the CNE, Meléndez obtained more than 359 votes in favor, which translates to 86% of the voter turnout.

Last Sunday, the Venezuelan people elected their representatives to popularly elected municipal offices.
